Live-In House Manager opportunity in New York City!

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable House Manager to oversee a beautifully maintained private townhouse on the Upper East Side. This is a fantastic opportunity for a private household professional who takes pride in creating a seamless, welcoming environment and thrives in a hands-on role.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented and discreet, with a strong sense of ownership and a natural ability to anticipate needs.

We are looking for someone mature, well-presented, and confident in managing a home independently.

Job Title: House Manager / Property Manager

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Starting date: ASAP

Holiday Days: 20 days annual leave plus public holidays

Living arrangements: Live-in, private accommodation provided on-site

Location: New York

Salary: $120,000 per annum

Role Overview:

This is a hands-on House Manager role suited to someone who can confidently oversee all aspects of a private household with exceptional attention to detail. You will be responsible for managing the property to the highest standards, ensuring everything runs seamlessly at all times.

The role includes overseeing the general upkeep of the home and handling housekeeping duties, ensuring the property is consistently well-presented and fully prepared for the principals' arrival. You will take full ownership of the household, coordinating maintenance, managing contractors, and liaising with external service providers as needed.

When the principals are in residence, you will take on a more service-focused role, warmly welcoming and supporting guests throughout their stay. This includes assisting with daily needs, organising bookings and reservations and anticipating needs to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience.

The principals reside in the property for approximately four months of the year. During these periods, additional support and temporary staff will be provided when needed.

You will also supervise temporary staff during periods when the family is in residence, ensuring smooth operations and consistent standards throughout the home.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate is highly organised, hands-on and naturally proactive, with the ability to adapt to changing needs with ease and composure. You will have a strong sense of discretion, an exceptional eye for detail, and genuine pride in maintaining a home to the highest standards.

We are looking for a professional with proven experience in private households or within a luxury yachting environment, who understands the level of service, presentation and anticipation this role requires.
